2010 and what we 've been up to

Its March 28th and Ive only now started a diary for this year.
The girls have been on a couple of Pony Training days with BE and had a brill time. We've been to Stafford Event and done a few Dressage comps.

Stafford BE event
Morgan had an ok 35.5 in dressage, a slightly disappointing stop and a pole in SJ for 8 faults and clear XC in the BE100.
Jack had a very tense test in gusty freezing wind, but Celi held it together very calmly for her first event for a reasonable 40.5, 2 stops SJ and a clear XC gave Celi a big grin.
Jago had a fab 31 dressage but then Robyn jumped the wrong SJ course.
An interesting day all round.

EASTER 2010

Holdays, great.
Its early April, we've had our Section C colt Llanidan Reaction out at a couple of early shows with Abby showing him, mainly to get used to handling him out in company as we;re taking him to the welsch cob sales at Builth Wells on 8th May along with Rhystyd Lace, section D filly. they are both 2 years old, very nice types, Reaction especially as he has huge power and fabulous light action, very 'off the floor'. They will have reserves on them but if they find nice homes at the right prices I know they'll give someone a lot of pleasure. We might find some more shows for them before the sale, Lace hasnt been out yet and she can be a bit shy. If we have the time it would be a nice change showing some purebreds.

The girls - Robyn and Celi are getting excited about Kelsall, iys just over a week away. Jack(Shae) and Celi look an absolute picture together, they're really turning into a proper team. Robyn is keen to get out on M. Jago and just get to the x country! I seem to have put her and Morgan in the BE100 standard instead of the BE100jr but its the same course. Ive got her in the jr at Bradwall so we can make a comparison I guess. I want to see Jago do some x country as its time we could think about him doing a BE100 in the near future, the next Stafford hopefully. His dressage is coming on quicker than Morgan's, he may catch up yet.
BSJA starts outdoors here next sunday at Valley Equestrian, always a lovely venue, fabulous surface, Gil Milners brill courses and only 5 miles from us! We'll be taking the usual boys, Morgan, Jago, Jack and any youngsters than can stand on the lorry and observe.
1 such youngster will be Spice (Morrigan Siorche), 14h, 4 year old half sister to Jack(M.Shae)- same sire, Spice had a foal last year - Basil(by Minyfordd Democrat) she's going to start her ridden career this week.
We continue to have our excellent training with Joss Edwards, Our 15,2h, 5 yr Neddy (Morrigan Enigma) has started the training and is coming along very nicely and quietly.
Joe and Connor are Pony Club members now, keen and raring to go. Easter egg hunt this weekend with Tamsin Jessup organising, looking forward to that! Joe has also declared that he would like to do dressage on his Twm.
We have started covering mares, although there will be half as many put in foal this year.

Kelsall Hill BE
What fab weather! A really nice day out, the going was perfect, the showjumping was a picture and the cross country was great fun as usual, so easy for spectators to see lots at this event.
Robyn had a double clear on both Morgan and Jago, In the BE100 and BE90. Both horses jumped well. 9th with Morgan.
Jack and Celi did well with only a fence down.
18.04.10
Combined Training at Bryn Derw, run by Caernarfonshire RC. Joe and Connor did yheir first Dressage test. Connor and Cai were 4th in the dressage only, Cai was an angel, he only spooked when the bell rang, when he jumped 10 foot in the air!
Joe trotted round mostly on his own, mum only helping a bit with directions, he did miss out a jump though cos he was smiling at people, he got a well deserved 2nd. Both boys very proudly showed their test sheets to Joss afterwards, very pleased with themselves. Robyn and Morgan had a 73% in the N28 and a 1st in their combined training. a brill day, very sociable and fun.

Bradwall. Always been balloted out of Bradwall previously so despite only getting 1 horse in (Jago balloted out)we were looking forward to going.
Robyn had a slightly tense test, 34, lots of 7's with a poor exit that lost her a few marks but its looking very together and accurate now, just need to relax and flow!
Showjumping - Big, full up course. tricky, twisty turns. Morgan not sure he fancied it but Robyn persuaded him to get on with it and they jumped a very fine, scopey round in style.
Cross country, Morgan found the tricky complicated course a bit spooky and stopped at a fairly simple jump. Very unusual for them to have a stop X country.
Overall they had a good event, It was time they met something challenging to make them sit up and think.
Mental note, never forget the spurs again!

Fab event, lovely people, cant wait for next year.
